Hi there my name is Joshua Melchert, I usually go by “Josh”. I am a recent career changer who with an avid interest in information technology, more specifically penetration testing, and I genuinely enjoy helping people.
I grew up on the southside of Chicago in a town called Tinley Park. I have always had an interest in computers and technology, but I found that I really enjoyed finding out what made things tick and in what ways I could make those things “tick” in ways they weren’t supposed to. There’s where my evolution into ethical hacking started, a simple mindset that has existed my entire life, “thinking outside the box.”
I have recently obtained my Practical Network Penetration Tester certification(PNPT) from TCM Security, and I plan to obtain my OSCP from Offsec soon. My main focus is web application penetration testing as I find myself excited by every avenue in which I discover and learn more about that specific vector of pentesting.
On this website I will share projects and assignments that I am currently working on along with any other helpful resources and links that have been detrimental to my journey.
